Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the inter-webs.
I’m Alexa. I wear a few different hats: communications professional, reporter, non-fiction writer, content developer, journalism graduate, part-time French speaker, traveler and lifelong learner.
Currently, I’m working as a content marketer and occasionally as a freelance writer. Head to my writing page to see some of my work. Contact me if you’re interested in hiring me for a freelance project.
When I’m not writing, I’m living my best life in Europe! Sometimes, I get to work as the program assistant for a study abroad program in Paris, France. Another credit I’d like to brag about is that I worked as both a Pulliam Fellow Reporter and freelancer at The Indianapolis Star. Basically, I went to Coldplay concerts for free and got to write about it. Not the worst job in the world, eh?
In May 2016, I graduated with a B.A. in Journalism & Digital Storytelling and minors in French & Public Relations. Following my graduation, I spent a blissful eight months teaching English in Hyères, France under the French Ministry of Education. When I wasn’t getting made fun of by high school students in French during my 12-hour work week, I was lounging on the beach. Did I mention it was blissful?
In my free time, I enjoy doing yoga, traveling, reading, playing guitar and writing essays for my first book.
To me, writing is all about conversation, from the interviewing process to the capturing of a photograph to the printing of a story. Each piece of media I create stems from a conversation. My hope is to preserve these conversations, memories and personal stories in my work.
I love the creative process. I love a good conversation. And boy, do I love a good story.
